Introduction

Why are you writing your memoirs, you may ask? You’re a bit young for that sort of thing, aren’t you?

Probably true. However, I’ve had a lot going on in the short span of my life and it seems that some scholars on Khorvaire (a few non-scholars as well) have shown an interest in what I have to share. Xen’drik always seems to be a hot topic and I spent a good amount of time there. I’m a member of a race that hasn’t really spread out across Khorvaire the way others have. And I’ve spent some time with some cultures that few others have had the chance to meet or even hear about (some that others don’t even believe exist outside of myth). Plus, my head gets filled with a lot of different things and I can get forgetful on occasion. It’s good to have my notes around in case there’s something important I need to remember.

As to my writing, this is not a formal paper for publication in a scholarly journal. It is not written to be a book. It is not an article of original research, review, or clinical study. I’ve written all of the above and realize that this writing may be a bit more difficult to read because it’s a bit more stream of consciousness than proper narrative. I know my style may abruptly switch between tense and point of view. Again, this is mostly for me and only being provided because others have stated an interest in knowing. I’m also writing (mostly) in an informal style that does use some informal contractions and shortened word forms. Hopefully, these don’t bother the reader too much, but again, stream of consciousness can cause some strangeness in writing.
