A New Book and Another Degree

My return to Sharn was nice. Kat had graduated and was gone but she had left a letter and a couple more had piled up since her leaving two months prior. It was unlikely she’d be returning to Khorvaire for a few decades (elves) and we had both discussed the fact that we would likely move on without one another for a long while. No surprise there but we are still friends and write when we can. Gwen was still at Shava House but was setting to leave for Valenar within the week. Sid and Jhanni were still in town and working the various theater districts where they wrote and directed together most of the time. They had some good shows and I even got dragged into one of them for a part they’d written specifically for me upon my return. It was embarrassing but also kinda’ thrilling being up in front of the crowds again. Very different than talking about a book you’d written, but still fun.
As for the book, although I’d been putting it together while I was still in Darggun, Kech Volaar and the Ancient Clans of Darguun took me another three months to finalize. I also finished my thesis (which was just a slightly more formal and shortened version of the book if truth be told). I successfully defended my thesis and obtained my PhD in anthropology with minors in archeology (with a specialty in Applied Tomb Raiding in Xen’drik – traps section was a blast but sooo dangerous) and history (HIST 323: Karnnath during the Last War was fascinating). Information on the Morgrave University Course Catalog (omnipotentseal, 2011). Did several talks regarding the new book and this was much more strenuous than the last book tour since I was the sole author. Fun but a lot of challenges from the academic community as they seem to refuse to believe that the Dhakaani are any different from Darguun as a whole. Frustrating!
