Vacation in Stormhome: Around Highwash > Rose Ward > Raincaller’s Guildhall

There is a museum-like tour of the most basic techniques in the bottom of the spires, and most of the tourists here for the upcoming Summer Festival are quite satisfied with the explanations presented, even if they’re simplistic and rather hand-wavey about the details. When I ask the tour guide some detailed questions, they say they’re “not qualified” to answer my questions, and if I would like to submit a letter that might be answered with your questions, the box is over there, just need to leave my address.

After the tour I head out through the gift shop where I see a “‘Build Your Own Lightning Rod” kit. YES! Of course I get one.

It’s not too large or unwieldy, though the box is heavy. Inside is an iron rod with a bulb on one end, significant enough in size to be a proper house-protecting lightning rod, a sharpened copper flat-spike with a thin layer of gold leaf, a sharpened aluminum flat-spike, about a foot of mostly-pure copper wire, and an instruction manual. The manual properly displays “Call your local Cannith to install the lightning rod after you’ve had your fun, and protect your house too!”. Cannith probably pays Lyrandar a bit for the advertising. Looks like it’s a lemon battery that’s supposed to jump to the iron rod. Of course, I manage to get a little shock when putting it together and I’d guess this usually encourages a kid’s parents to pay for the small safety of the lightning rod Installation.
